چکیده

In this work, porous catalytic membrane with tailored microstructure has been developed for the production of hydrogen from oxy-reforming process. Porous membranes have produced by freeze-casting ceria-based powders using camphene as solvent. The process parameters optimized in terms type and amount dispersant to obtain homogeneous stable ceramic suspension suitable process, while freezing temperature was chosen on basis porosity final samples. obtained freeze cast sample showed very high levels (≈ 80%) good gas permeability (1.0 × 10−11 m2). structure finally evaluated catalyst reaction methane showing conversions (up 90%) production. use a unique other than pelleted catalysts allowed obtaining smooth thermal profiles without evidence endothermic or exothermic peaks.

CO-Free Production of Hydrogen via StepwiseSteam Reforming of Methane

CO-free hydrogen is produced by the reversible cyclic stepwise steam reforming of methane for use in fuel cells and other processes that are sensitive to CO poisoning. The process consists of two steps involving the decomposition of methane in a first step followed by steam gasification of the surface carbon in a second step. The ease of carbon removal in step II is strongly dependent on temper...

Hydrogen Production via Steam Reforming with CO2 Capture

Hydrogen demand in refineries is increasing vigorously due to the stringent transportation fuel specifications, furthermore the interest in the so-called hydrogen economy developed in the recent years put the hydrogen as energy carrier in the centre of a growing interest. More than 95% of the hydrogen for refinery use is nowadays produced via hydrocarbon steam reforming, where Foster Wheeler pl...

Hydrogen production via steam reforming of LPG on Ni/Zeolite catalysts

Steam reforming is one of the most important processes for producing hydrogen from hydrocarbon fuels such as LPG and has attracted much attention due to its high efficiency and economy. In this study, the LPG steam reforming reaction was investigated on nickel catalysts supported on four various zeolites (H-Y, Na-Y, HZSM5 and Ferrierite). The catalytic tests were performed in a tubular fixed be...

Stable Hydrogen Production from Ethanol through Steam Reforming Reaction over Nickel-Containing Smectite-Derived Catalyst

Hydrogen production through steam reforming of ethanol was investigated with conventional supported nickel catalysts and a Ni-containing smectite-derived catalyst. The former is initially active, but significant catalyst deactivation occurs during the reaction due to carbon deposition. Side reactions of the decomposition of CO and CH4 are the main reason for the catalyst deactivation, and these...

Biomass pyrolysis oils for hydrogen production using chemical looping reforming

This study considers the feasibility of using highly oxygenated and volatile pyrolysis oils from biomass wastes as sustainable liquid fuels for conversion to a hydrogen-rich syngas using the chemical looping reforming process in a packed bed. Pine oil and palm empty fruit bunches oil‘EFB’were investigated with a Ni/Al2O3 catalyst doubling as oxygen transfer material (OTM). The effect of molar s...
